Senate Republicans Vote to Raise Taxes

OK.  You have to follow this fairly closely because I have to use convoluted Republican logic to demonstrate the facts.

The tax credits for renewable energy will expire if nothing is done to extend them.  Taxpayers who install renewable energy equipment in the future will see their taxes rise if these credits are not extended.  The Senate Republicans have voted to block the extension from moving forward.  Therefore, the Senate Replublicans HAVE VOTED TO RAISE TAXES.

Sound like a stretch?  Well, it is.  But it is the same logic used by Republicans when they claim Democrats will be raising taxes if they don't extend Bush's tax cuts for the rich.  In fact, Republicans voted to raise taxes when they voted to sunset the tax cuts.  They did this so they could lie about how much the tax cuts would cost.

So anyway, I suggest we all call our Senators and tell them to QUIT VOTING TO RAISE OUR TAXES.  Ask them to support renewable energy.

Senator DeMint voted to raise our taxes.  Senator Graham was too busy to vote.
