Cuba Caravan to stop in Charleston this Tuesday, June 27, 6:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, June 27, 2006 the Caravan to Cuba sponsored by "International Foundation of Community Organizers" (http://www.ifconews.org/) will be in Charleston for one evening. This is the caravan's eighth annual visit to Charleston en route to Cuba. Each year, the caravan boldly challenges the US embargo against Cuba by transporting tons of medical and educational aid to that island.

"Caravanistas" from all over the world join in solidarity for the Cuban people. We will host a pot-luck dinner at the Avery Research Center, share in a question and answer session about Cuba and their Caravan, and discuss the scholarship program of the Cuban Ministry of Health for young people in the USA who wish to attend medical school in Cuba. This evening is a fantastic opportunity to learn about Cuba's strengths and struggles.

The event will begin at 6pm at the Avery Research Center, which is located at 125 Bull Street in downtown Charleston. All are welcome to attend! For more information, or if you can donate materials (especially medical supplies) please contact:
