Currently there are 93 young American citizens from medically underserved areas studying medicine at the Latin American School of Medicine in Havana, Cuba. Interviews will be held in Charleston on September 15 and 16 to find students to begin medical school in the spring of 2007. If you know young people with a strong science background and a desire to work as doctors in poor and medically underserved areas of this state, and if you think these students may need full scholarships, please come to Tuesday's planning meeting.
